Teaching
You will be teaching in primary and lower secondary classes, focussing on English and other subjects in an English medium school. There are also plenty of chances to tutor older students and adults if you wish. You can choose what subjects you would like to teach according to your interests – art, sport, music, bird watching, anything at all!

Volunteers live with the families of other teachers and both meals and board are free. In return they teach Monday to Thursday, a half day on Fridays and on Saturday as well.   

Costs
Unlike many other volunteering programs, Holyland does not charge any administration fees or compulsory donations.  You buy the plane ticket to Kathmandu, buy a bus ticket to Dhangadi and that’s all it will cost you.  Food and board are free while at the school, and you can buy goods to help the local economy, spend your money on traveling around and making sure that it goes to the communities and the people you visit, not a big volunteering organization!

Nepal is one of the cheapest countries in the world to live in.

Requirements
Volunteers require enthusiasm, an enjoyment of primary age children, a sense of humour, an ability to live in non-western conditions and most importantly a desire to experience an amazing part of the world and to do something good for it.
